You can use a calculator on all the math, it has to be the basic
of basic calculators.

Yes I have, I failed by just a few points, and have not
taken it again since.

My career is just in the toliet, ever seen ive given
up truck driving 3 years ago, ive been unemployeed, and
going to pharmacy tech scool has not changed anything, and
no seems to care that i even went to school, its the experiance
employeers want to see, I had to teeth and nails just to get
my extern in a IV home infusion company for 3 months, and that
did not seem to help either, and by reading some of the posts
on this forum, I never would have spent the money to go to school
if it was going to be this damn hard on finding a job.

so, sorry to hear that after going to the school you did not pass.
I am studying on my own, no schooling. But, I have 15 years medical background that is helping. Hopefully IT will help me. So, what do you think was the hardest about the test? If you don't mind me asking.

my calulator was taken at the door because it had to many functions, it does have a lot of math, i did fail by a few points, if i had my calculator I may have actually passed, I also hear know your DEA numbers if they are valid or not, it will appear on the test, and know your scedule II info, you never know whats going to be on a test, so other then what it would be hard to say, but study all the math formulas formost that will be hard enough.

I took the test Nov. 29 and got my result today.
I passed! my test was mostly math, some biohazard questions. And some questions I had no idea. Maybe those were the ones that dod not count. My advice know all the math formulas.

Hi Beklyn23,
Did you have to learn by heart the 200 common drugs <brand and generic names>, too? Did they ask about drugs and stuff?
Thank you.

math formulas should be your top concern of study...learning 200 drugs, categories, what the drug is for, etc...you would have to learn close to 800 items relating to drugs...

it is just simple drug names...

Is opermozole a trade name or generic
What is it used for?
What classification is it?
Is it OTC or Prescription

so from one drug name, several questions can
result...its just not as simple as saying
what is fluoxitine? for depression - its more
complicated then that...knowing the top 200 drugs means
you have to know every aspect of the drugs, can
you remember that much information?

there can be almost anything on your exam, but you know for sure
what will be on your exam, math formulas... you will have your
hands full just learning the different types of formulas.

I would bet if you got all or most of your math questions right,
and some common sense questions, i think anyone could pass.

I just took the test today and I am super nervous. They had some really oddball questions. I'm hoping those were the ones that won't count. You definately need to know how to convert measurements in the metric and the U.S. measuring system. Know your laws and your 200 drugs.
