I'm the clown who came to town to check your spelling and see what I found...You may want to run spell check before sending out anymore resumes. If changing your degree, you should consider an English major. Good luck Lana. |

Thanks to everyone....I appreciate for your advices. Yes, my English needs enhancement....but there are people working in pharmacies without a degree and speak no English. Where is logic in this? Also, my resume is grammaticly correct and has no mistakes. The problem is that I do not have pharm. experience in the United States, but I have a certificate (CPhT). I do not know why employers prefer to get people with only high school diploma rather than a certified pharm. technician. |

I had a pharmacist tell me that my certification means nothing to him. All it means is that I passed a test. I passed my test last December and I was just offered a tech position at my local CVS. So keep plugging. Go nock on doors in person, that's how I got my job Good luck. ( and watch that spelling ) |

Getting a hospital pharmacy tech job or one of those private pharmacies (ones the fill nursing homes and group homes) is the only way to make money. Its VERY hard to get a job as a pharmacy tech in any of those places. Think about how many hospitals are in the area? At the most we will say 10 5 Aren't hiring and 3 only have part time positions. Random example. If anything I would become a CNA or EMT-B and work your way up from there. CNA is a good path into nursing. Also it is very tough to get a full-time pharmacy tech job in retail also. Its possible, but very tough. Pharmacy by nature is a weird profession. |

I agree with KMG365. 2 years ago, there were tons of ads for pharmacy tech, but now just so very few and far between. Retail pharm. tech jobs are there but still you have to know somebody already working there to get in. Every area is different. The economy really put a damper on us everywhere. And, yeah, spelling counts for alot. |

For most companies it is less expensive to hire a technician who is not certified. Law has been passed in most states that will soon require all technicians to be CERTIFIED, but is not in place yet. If you this makes you feel any better, I have been certified for 6 years with 12 years experience and have been looking for work for 2 months. Don't give up. |

Good choice Lana I wish the best in whatever occupation you choose to pursue. I am in the process of making a career switch as well the certified/registered pharmacy technician career path is not worth it. I can hold on to my CPh.T status with 20 continuing credit hours every 2 years and pay the crummy registration fee. However it's pointless I may never use it again. Furthermore, after working as a pharmacy technician I don't think I want to go to pharmacy school. I want a new profession in something thats creative/dynamic and keeps my mind sharp. At one point I was thinking about biotechnology ( I wish they had a certification/registration for a biological technician so I could work for a drug manufacturer such as Merck or Novaritis ) or criminal justice, in order to earn a law degree. Well thats life you live and you learn with the choices you make, so moving on now and in my situation it seems that I will be back to square one(returning to school to train for a better career). -Good grief |

To Brown-Dude34 in Boston, Ma.....Hey, I thought I would let you know that Newton-Wellesley Hospital is looking for a Pharmacy Tech. Your commute would be great because all the traffic goes into boston while you are leaving it and vise-versa. Just thought I would let you know. With your certification, it might be worth your while to check it out. I wish I had that certification myself. Good Luck. |

With your spelling problems you simply CANNOT have "over than 10 years pharm.industry experience also Sertifyed..." Kindly, yes, please, change your degree. I cannot afford to have you dispensing my medication should I happen to walk into your place of business. |

Who really cares about who can spell what. I came to this forum with the same problem as the person with the original post and looking for advice. However, there are a few people who decides to take up space wanting to give their comments that was really not wanted. Yes, I agree that writing and speaking in proper english is important, but who does not make mistakes. If you really want to help because their incorrect spelling bothered you that much, kindly point it out and move on to giving your opinion on the question asked. However, nay saying just for the sake of it is immature and you should go else where with it. Please waste someone elses time and space. |
