Nasr in Sterling Heights, Michigan said: The rate depends which state you are working ...... if the supply more than domend like here in MI will be lucky if you finde vacancy what evere is the rate. for one position thereare more than 300 applicants , 50 or less will be called and one will be chosen ....who is the one .....????? In Texas, the pharmacy techs at CVS Pharmacy only start at $10 an hr. Super Target starts at $11.75 for a tech with no experience, but they don't have a counting machine of any type; you ARE the counting machine!! I liked working there, but I guess they thought I wasn't fast enough or efficient enough. They put a LOT of pressure on their techs, but I would have dealt with the pressure for that kind of money. Working part-time, I was able to pay all of my bills!! With CVS, I still struggled a lot, although I LOVED the weekly paychecks, but they stopped that in July 2011. |

kanaka54 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama said: We are not allowed to use the bathroom in-pharmacy either (because of the DM's decision), nor are we allowed to hace any food/drink in the pharmacy area. We also cannot wear jackets or sweaters w/ pockets. I don't think its a company wide policy, but our two local stores fall under the same DM. we have the same rules at our store |

what programs are out there to learn more about prescription drugs and how they work and the uses. Sounds like most of the technician courses talk about the basic sig codes, calculations and customer service. |

Best way for input is to try to memorize the sigs such as the most common is 1qd ( take one tablet by mouth everyday). The more u practice, the better u get. ...

Adam in Lansing, Illinois said: Ok I have been working in Wal mart Pharmacy about a week now, and dont know a lot about using the Connexus system. All i know is when a customer comes in they give you a prescription paper, and then you ask them month and date of birth. After that you put it in the computer and find the name, then you scan it and hit accept. Ok now the hard part is inputting anyone give me some tips and advice of inputting. And what to press? You are talking about the TASCO system, not the Connexus system. As for inputting, have you not taken any of the CBL's yet? You should not even be doing inputting after only a week. Heck, you should only be learning how to cashier & TASCO. I did not learn inputting and filling until I started the Tech program, after about the first month. |

rosebud in Richmond, Virginia said: that pay really sucks. i am a certified pharmacy tech at walmart and only make ten an hr. all the things i have to do and know when a patient comes to my window not to mention everything else we should make eighteen and hr. I use to work production and made seventeen. what we do is crutual. we help people we work in medicine. you should be making twenty five for what you do. I just think all of us should go on strike one city or state at a time. doctors get paid really high. they need us all of them, everywhere. pharmacist make alot of money even at walmart but us tech get low pay. we do everything. get back with me. i totally agree with this and im only an over the counter sales associate, i go way over what im suppose to do in my job description i do alot of the work the techs do and i only get paid 8.80 an hour, i have to know soooooooo much and i work so hard and in PA where i work you donnot need an education nor training to become a pharmacy tech. i've been trying to become a tech for awhile now and want to learn some of the stuff they do but alot of the techs i work with are very rude, condenscending and treat me as if im not smart enough to do what they do, in all actuallity im the one who catches and corrects most of thier mistakes, so im guessing its some jealousy on thier part. i will say this any job in a pharmacy is a very stressful one and we do totally NEED to get paid more, us little guys really do more for way less it should totally be leveled out a little more as far as wages. |

So stop judging and go yelp somewhere else. |

mrantenna in Grand Rapids, Michigan said: Sounds like walmart is not the place to work for a pharmacy tech. After all the schooling and the cost of certification, $12 an hour is an insult, and I refuse to work for that little amount. I say UNION-IZE....National unions have the edge. Ill bet the pay and benefits would rise in a hurry if all pharm techs would stick together. Just think of the power we would have...... Unions suck!! They always take a lot of money out of your check every pay period!! For What??? You think you make more with a union!! How funny!! You make a lot LESS!!!!!!! |
