Hello all, I have just decided that I want to become a Pharmacist, but first I would like to be a Pharm Tech, to see if I like the whole Pharmacy environment. The state of California has some pretty harsh laws, so I was wondering what the requirements are to become a Pharm tech. Are you required to take courses? Or can I simply by a book, study, take the PTCB test register in the state and then find a job? PLEASE anyone who is a Pharm Tech in the state of CALIFORNIA, I would really appreciate it if you could all tell me what you did to become a tech, and what is required. Honestly, I would love to just study the book, and take the test. I have no desire to go back to school to take classes, I just got my Bachelor's from Sac State. Thank you very much! |

Well, I am planning to do the same and spoke to the managing pharmacist at my wal mart (one of the easier places to get a pharm tech job) and he told me that i needed schooling (Rop, Jc or vocational), passing the test only ensures that you are paid better, but that the education was pretty much required. |
