Try clincal training institute they are located in Woodland Hills, Lancaster, Bakersfield, Santa Maria, and Oxnard. I did alot of research before i enrolled. They offer basic and advanced didactic, day and nite class, classes are 3 weeks day and 3 1/2 nights, and externship in a real hospital, and i passed my state exam they did all the paperwork form me. the cost was reasonable they have a website clinicaltraininginst.com.

I hope this helps

I am a recent UCLA graduate who is applying to medical schools this summer. To fill in the time I decided to get a phlebotomy license at Meridian Institute. 3 things you should be aware of:

1)Make sure the school is accredited by the Department of Health Services

2)Make sure your externship placement is either an on-site externship affiliated with the school or there is no waiting list between the time you finish your didactic and begin your externship with that school. You'd be surprised, but some schools don't provide externships or have you wait on a month-long waiting list before getting in.

3)Make sure your school has a job placement facility that will send out your resume to employers once you get your license. If you look around the rest of this forum, most people have gotten their license but simply don't have that foot in the door with a company to actually get a job. This is when a good word comes in handy.

Meridian offers all of that but I'm sure other schools meet the same credentials. BEWARE though that some of them do not, so pick wisely.
