i went to american university of medical technology aka aumt, in ontario ca. The pros : the course is only 12 days!, my whole class passed the state exam :),and the classes are small. The cons : no financial aid, u have to pay out of pocket but they have some sort of payment plan, also it takes over a month to get sent to externship.

I'm pursuing an online bachelors course in phlebotomy technician. The college is accredited and provides opportunities for hands-on experience. They are also providing the study materials and the professors provide timely support. Following site has all the information about my college. phlebotomytechnicianprograms.org/what-is-the-best-online-phlebotomy-technician-program/

Do you know if US College offers night classes and if so what are the hours? And do you know if they offer late hours externships? |

I'm undecided about going to US Colleges or taking the ROP classes. Has anyone attended US colleges?? Is it worth the $2500 and did they actually help you find the externships?? were you able to get an externship at a hospital and how long did it take you to find a job?? Thank you.. |

I also am between US Colleges and the ROP classes. Anyone have some advice? The downside with ROP is it is hard to get in and the program is much longer, 6 months to a year I believe for most programs. |

Hi, I didn't take the time to go through all of the comments, so idk if someone has already said this, but I took the class at U.S. Colleges and I loved it. At first I was going to do ROP, but they required I take a legit medical terminology class which I did at Mesa College, but by the time I was able to get done with it the Phlebotomy program at ROP had been cancelled due to insufficient funding... so there went that. Then I tried Family Health Services, but their application process is all online. It said that you needed experience to take a CPT class? wtf? I emailed them about it and they emailed me back the same response, then when I tried to ask more, I never heard from them again. About a year later I found U.S. Colleges and it was great. Application process in person where i could ask all of the questions I needed to. It's pretty pricy, but they offer a payment plan. The teacher does not make you learn any unecessary ifo. She will go through the chapters and have you highlight whatever is going to be on the national/state exam and will talk over it for a while then you go to lab (ppl sticking time =) ) I had a wonderful experience with them and they offer an externship where you go practice at a hospital (or other lab) for a week and they help you with job placement. What I like the most about this school is that almost every wednesday and Friday they allow you to go practice. So when you are done with the course and externship you are still able to practice while you find a job. I finished in october and I have my extership in december, but they do offer externships where you can start the week after you finish. I chose december because I felt I needed a bit more practice. Overall, it is a well structured school, easy and they have everything you need and I'm glad I went there rather than somewhere else. |

They find it for you. I went in there asking about what type of payment plans they have. it's $395 A WEEK. what the hell, that's not a payment plan that helps anyone at all. |

You have to pay for the internship? well the basic and advance online are $677 for both. I just worry about the internship. |

Yes you have to pay for the externship and practical. I asked about taking it online too. Basically you can take those classes online and pay $677, but when you do the practical and externship, you still have to pay the remaining $1823. |

Phlebotomy Services( www.phleb.com ), to me, is the best training anyone can get. They offer 1 or 3 day training, even better they offer phlebotomy training online at an even lower price. in las vegas, there are schools that charge 12,000!!! twelve thousand!!! whaaat??? i paid 700 in victorville, ca at the community college and my teacher was awesome, we all passed the national exam. i got a ft job with benefits immediately after that (in nevada though, because ca was hard to find a job). |

Michelle, I wouldn't use this website for certification merely because THEY don't know how to use "spell check" prior to publishing a WEBSITE! I was on the website for 5 seconds before spotting the typo. I left after that so who knows how many more there are.

The hospital I went to offers the opportunity to volunteer and after a year or so (hopefully even less) they can hire me.... or somewhere else where less experience is required. So keeping my fingers crossed. |
