Are foreign PTs still hired as PTs in the US after taking the stateboards? Or are they required to study 2 more years and get a master's degree before employment as a physical therapist? Please enlighten.

Hello,my name is Cielo C and I am a Physical Therapist from Colombia.I have been living here in the U.s for 9 years, working in different jobs. I went to PBCC and studied Massage Therapy which was not too good of a job for me. I worked for some chiropractors, but they do not pay well, so I did not continue working as a MT. I have my green card and I am looking for someone to help me with my PT licence because this is my proffesion and what I would like to do for the rest of my life. I want to get a job as a Physical Therapist.

The first step is to send your transcripts to be evaluated by the fccpt. Go on their web site and u will find all the information needed. After the evaluation is completed they will let u know if your education meet US standards. If so, you can apply for a license and take the NPTE.
