HI THERE, I AM A FRESHMAN IN COLLEGE, DURING MY WORK AS A CNA I LIFTED A BARIATRIC PATIENT AND NOW I HAVE TERRIBLE BACK PAIN. MY OTHRO DOC SAYS I AM TOO YOUNG TO HAVE SURGERY AND JUST GAVE ME A CORTIZON SHOT.

MY QUESTION IS I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN PHYSICAL THERAPY, CAN I BECOME A PT WITH THIS BACK LIMITATIONS?

THANKS AGAIN

Hi,

Sorry but PT is a very physical job which involves much lifting and exertion. Damage to your back is very disabling and I would avoid careers which may cause futher injury/pain, until/if you get your back sorted.

Cheers (PT)
