I am a foreign trained PT from India, licensed for NY and MI. Currently pursuing my masters. I wanted to know if anyone is aware of the credit requirements to meet the needs of NJ board.
I also know that this state requires a Masters degree. Does it matter if its MPT or just MS in another related field.
Anyone who is licensed in NJ please give me feedback on this.

priya in Whitestone, New York said: Hi Cherisha, If you have license for NY then why don't you want to work in NY? I can refer you to one of my friend who has his own PT clinics also he recruits pts for other clinics and hospitals in his network. You can study for your masters and also practice in NY. Now even in NY they will require Masters so it doesn't matter NJ or NY rules will be almost the same. A legitimate license and master degree in the field of physical therapy. You can e-mail me if you are looking for job in NY. I will let my friend contact you. He can also provide you more information about it. Such as if you can do the reciprocity for NY license to NJ license etc. He can be a big help for you. My e-mail Priyarana.us@gmail.com

Hi,
I tried a lot for jobs in NY. Dint really get good offers for a fulltime. So I took up a position with a travel co. and will be posted in Michigan or Maine to start of with or may be upstate NY.
Put your resume on careerbuilder and nypta websites. You will start getting calls. Frankly the pay scale sucks there so I looked for other options. Most of the co. I even applied to were not sure if they would have postions in NY. If you already living in NJ I would suggest you walk into NY hospis and clinics for interviews and try your luck. Getting jobs through these agencies gets your salary package lower since they eat up the commission without you knowing.
