Hi everyone, I was in PT school with 1.5 years to go when I didn't pass a class by a percentage point and had to leave the program. It was definitely an eye-opening learning experience for me. I am now applying to work as an aide or research assistant, but I want to return to school and get my degree. Has anyone been in this situation? What is the best thing to do in my situation? Please advise!

Hi there, was school really hard in your program? I'm considering going to school to become a physical therapy assistant. |

Hi, thanks for the info. The program I took was challenging, but you can be successful in it as long as you plan ahead for the long three years. |

I was in a similar situation but with medical school. After completing my first year, the start of the second year came with Hurricane Ike (I was at UTMB in Galveston,TX. It was a huge self-check, and I decided to leave the school, for many other reasons, but the Hurricane was the final blow. Bouncing back into a new career or passion is tough. My recommendation is what I am currently doing, and that is, graduate school. I find that aside from everything else, Graduate school is a great place to hide. Once in the program, ride out loans and little work such as research assistant. Having this in the background, I have/can pursue programs that I believe I would be passionate about and would best utilize my skills. My 2 cents, and best of luck finding yourself and your new path. |
