I'm sorry to hear that. Don't get discourage or frustrated. Just keep on taking an exam until u pass it. Don't give up. I passed my exam on my 3rd try. I know how hard and painful when u failed but atleast we learn
From our mistakes. It's not harder the second time around. Another set of exams but atleast u know now how the exam looks like. Just keep on reading and try to understand everything. Don't memorize it. When u take practice exams, analyze and understand everything in the question and answer as well. U can make it. I'm telling u don't give up. U are on ur way already. Good luck!

I have failed this test 5 times and I am retesting in November ... Although discouraging , don't give up.... You are almost there. It will be well worth it ..... Imagine when you pass what it will feel like .... SFT = See, Feel trust ... I learned that from 7 days in Utopia. You can do it... In november will be my 6th try .... Gonna do the best I can and thats all we can do... I will pray for you ....

Well Ann, i wrote a few weeks ago that i failed mt PTA exam...Well, I took them over 2 weeks after the first time (since) i only failed by 6 points A 594, i just retook it and PASSED !!!! Keep on studying...praying.... Let everybody know in novemeber...I studying in detail scorebuilders....the first time alli did was look iver the test in the back. The 2nd time I read every section and took notes...it seem to do the trick i maded a 589

Congrats, what a nice news... I can't wait to pass. Bcs i'm tired of studying, there is too much information. Can you plz tell me how did u study, how was the exam. What is your golden advices. Hi, the passing rate for the exam may vary according to the difficulty of the exam form you will be tested on. They change the passing score to a scale. The passing score for the scale is 600 out of 800. You will have 200 Q 50 of them will not be counted on your score because these questions will be tested to use them on the future exams. I hope i clarified what you need to know.

I did not take the exam yet,, i'm preparing for it, i may take it after two months. The best books are IER and the scorebuilder. They have practice tests come on CD to help you identify your weakness and focus on it. I studied the IER its a very good book. And now i almost finished studying the flash cards for scorebuilder they are a must have because they help you understand not to memorize. I also have the master conten app you can buy it from scorebuilder as well. Its the same of the flash cards but in addition it has 600 questions. I think its better to start studying the scorebuilder for Giles you can buy it online. They will release a new edition on october 1st . You may stydy the flash cards untill you get the new edition. Then take the practice exams to see on what you have to focus on. Then buy the PEAT. I didnt buy it yet but i will once i feel im ready, it is the closest version to the real exam. Good luck for both of us. Forgive me if i have mistakes in my english. Because i'm a foreign student.

This will be my 6th time for this one. I had to wait a year and the time is now. God is the guider of this journey . He has helped me through this year. Hoping to give ya great results soon....

I have a question out there for anyone that can help me..... I am applying for my 7th time to take the NPTAE ... I have come close each time. Each time that I fail the test I have to re register with the state of arizona which is $160. apply to the federal which is roughly 420 and pay to take the test which is 75 $ ... I have spent alot of money doing this.... I have extra time to take the test and I have been studying over a year for this one..... My questions is ... I am so close that I take the 200 questions and they throw the 50 questions out and how many of the 50 that they don't count did I get right to PASS .... That would have pushed me over the top... This is getting to feel like a money maker for the federation and the state... Is there a simpler way ... I have talked to PTs and they can't believe how difficult it is...

I got my results i made a 584 which means I missed around 1 question .... If a person makes 592 to 599 that means they missed 1/2 a question ... Next time will surely be it.... I am gonna fine tune a few things and be ready in 3 weeks ....

You just gave me a glimpse of hope, I graduated from the program in 07 and I worked in colorado for two years but I moved to GA and I need to test here, so I am delighted to see after reading how hard the test is, that you passed on the first try after such a long period. ust found out I passed the PTA exam(1st time). I feel I passed from taking the practice exams (O'Sullivan was the key). I also studied my school clin. con. notes. I felt there where NO surprises after I took the board exam. I studied for 5 weeks, and took the weekends off. This is how each week looked: 1 out of the 5 days I went over the exam. 1 day went over clin. con. 1 day scorebuilders(example nuro) 1 Day (nuro)1 Day O'sullivan 1 Day scorebuilders flash cards.
(not sure if this is important my GPA was 2.8)

We just took the PTA Board exam and did not make it. There were a lot of questions on Diseases and their signs and symptoms. Does anyone know what book/material where we can read we can read about the diseases? Is there any other exam preparation material like the E-book out there? Pleae help!

I am studying using ScoreBuilders and TherapyEd. I have taken each test in Scorebuilders and the first two in TherapyEd as well as the first PEAT exam. On each test I always score around 100 out of 150 (67%).

The PTA program I attended has only had 2 students pass the PEAT on the first attempt during the entire time they begain requiring student to take the PEAT, yet there is a near 100% pass rate on the liscensing exam.

Is the actual exam easier than the practice exam? This will in no way change the amount of effort I put into studying, but during my clinicals the PTA's told me they didn't remember the liscensing exam being all that hard.

Anyway, my question is if I am scoring around 67% on the practice exams (first attempt), how well do others predict I will do on the actual exam?

Hi, i took the nPTA exam a month ago.. I took the PEAT and i got 101 and 102 , so its almost like you. The PEAT was harder then the real exam.. The PEAT made me feel confuse but i assure yiu that the NPTA exam is easier.. And i left the test feeling good about what i did.... So good luck with taking the exam.

What are you referring to as iER for O'Sullivan? Are you referring to the book Physical Rehabilitation by O'Sullivan?

In my PTA program, the instructors referred to that book as the "bible" and that we should read it twice before taking the liscensing exam (1,350 pages and written on the PT level)

I would be interested in how you preprared to successfully pass the liscensing exam. My stradegy is to study books like Scorebuilders and TherapEd, take as many practice exams as possible and study the rationales for the questions.

By the way I scored a 98 on my 2nd PEAT. That did not surprise me since you made about the same on both exams.
