I am planning on PTA school a year from now. I'm trying to find someone who is in the Denver job market. What kinds of jobs are you finding available? Are there limited options or plenty of options for a new grad? I see a lot of PT jobs avail. but not too many PTA jobs. Any info about this area would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you had any luck finding job information for Denver? Did you start school and if so where are you going? Thanks

Hi - how's the school and job hunt going? I'm trying to decide whether to train at PIMA or Arapahoe in Denver. Both say they have great job placements in the Denver area after graduation, so I assume it's like a lot of industries in that many jobs don't end up being advertised but are work-of-mouth and via networking with colleges, etc.

I live in the Denver area and am a licensed PTA from the East Coast. I have let my license lapse and since Colorado does NOT license PTA's, the APTA said I can work without a license since I already have my degree. There are noPTA refresher classes or anything out here, although Arapahoe Community College said I could take a semester of PTA classes without a grade. I don't have the cash upfront for that, so I'll need to refer to my books and writings!

So far, the job hunt for PTA's in the Littleton area is scarce. And not knowing how much a PTA makes out here, I asked the director at the college. She said $15/hr and that was on the low end.... I put an ad n the paper and see how that goes!

I am in my second semester at PIMA, although it may be more expensive, all students have a direct relationship with the program director Cris Mathwigg, who is amazing! classes are only 30 students and you have about 4 instructors from start to finish. PIMA is a family owned school, they even offer tutoring in difficult subjects.

hey shannon - i just sent you an email, thanks for offering your help!

and a correction to my initial post: i think ACC is about $10,000 for the whole 2.5yr course, not per year.

I'm interested to know if you found a PTA job yet. Are PTA jobs limited in the Denver area? So many people in the forum say the job outlook is great, but they're not looking for jobs in Denver. Pay also seems to be greater outside of Denver. Would you agree? Tell me what pay you have found out there. Thank you!

Colorado does not require a license. But that could change next year as it's up for legislative review.

They just got certification. No licensing yet. My recommendation is obtain a license from another state (ie. Wyoming) Better to be safe than sorry.

Noob, I don't think Wyoming offers licenses, either, just certification.
