Hello future PTAs, I talked to a PTA today trying to get some insight about the field. He has been a PTA for 8 yrs., he makes about $82,000 a yr., during home health care. WOW!!! that is some good money. |

That's the highest salary I've heard of. I'd be willing to bet that the person is either inflating their salary for one reason or another or they are in the .01% of PTAs that make this type of salary. I certainly wouldn't expect it. |

True. I'd just hate to see second time career folks with families going through the sacrifice of going back to school for their PTA degree in hopes of a 80k/year salary. 80k/year is ~ the average high end salary for PTs. It does depend on a number of factors you listed. Prior to the 80k/year figure the highest I've heard for PTA is 60k/year. One PTA with this salary also had over ten years experience with an MBA and worked as a rehabilitation manager for a skilled nursing care facility. Just another perspective. |
