Relationship between Athletic Trainers and PTAs... are Athletic Trainers trying to infringe on the PTA and/or PT's role?

I am in a PTA program, and I often hear snippets about Athletic Trainers trying to change the wording of the practice act (in WI) so they can treat more patients, which may take away jobs from PTAs. I don't know much about that, or how factual that is. Does anyone have any info?? Similarly, I hear about how massage therapists and personal trainers are trying to get in on the pie where they could potentially treat patients that normally would have to be treated in physical therapy. Any info, opinions, etc., is greatly appreciated. I don't know enough, so I am currently neutral as to my own opinion.

I hope this doesn't happen. I'm a Massage Therapist and while I am very educated and have facilitated healing in many people, I do not feel I have the qualifications to play the role of a PTA, which is why I applied to PTA school. It's a different set of skills. MTs should not perform PTA skills, and vice versa.
