What are typical physical therapy assistant salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

Try a couple searches using the Indeed Salary Search. Here's a search I did for Physical Therapy Assistant in the US: www.indeed.com/salary?q1=Physical+Therapy+Assistant&l1=&tm=1 You can also refine your searches by adding a location and/or comparing several different searches by clicking on the "Add Comparison" link |

Is PTA feasible for a more mature person - late 30s to early 40s? I am interested in the field but have been cautioned by some that the intensive lifting makes this field not very viable for a more mature person. Wouldn't the type of lifting and amounts depend where you were working and what type of therapy is being done? What if you were working with children for instance or with patients with less intensive physical needs? Someone commented on another board, that you need to be able to lift 100-150 pounds to be a staff therapist and PTA is for younger, stronger people. Is this true? I hate to invest in an education if I am not going to be able to do the job. |

Home care is definitely more lucrative. My husband has worked in many therapy settings and has found that Home care pays better and sometimes they will even kick in gas mileage reimbursement. Anywhere from $30.to $45. a visit--depends on the company. |

Hi Shelly, What is the average amount of home visits that your husband does in a week? Anyone else that has an answer (particularly in the IN area) please chime in! Thanks |

I think people that get the salary confused or think its really low are talking about a PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE, NOT ASSISTANT. BIG difference in salary..... |
