I get that PT is about getting use of your body. And I think that OT can be a variaty of things in everyday life such as learning to tie your shoe again....am I right? I have been doing a lot of research online and from what I have read it seems that PT might be a better career option at this time. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! |

As the name states.. it retrains your body for the Occupation of every day life. Works with the U/E, such things as coordination, ADLs, IADLS. PTA is more physically demanding whereas OTA is more imaginative in that you have to find ambiguous tasks for the patient to perform that will help them. For example putting little pegs into holes works Fine motor, coordination, stamina. It takes more explaining to patients why OT is necessary because they dont see the immediate effects of their tasks. |
