Starting from scratch

I'm looking into a complete career change and I've been inspired to look into a PA program after being treated by one in an emergency room. I'm beginning work toward an A.S. degree at a local community college and thinking Clinical Medical Assisting would be a good start. I would appreciate any thoughts or comments.
