I am shadowing a PA at Winthrop hospital who told me that Touro's pa program is not very reputable and if it were up to him he would not hire PA's from there. Why is Touro's pa program not reputable? Does anyone have any insights on this? I was planning on applying there since I meet most of the prerequisites and would like to apply for January 2012. Is York College's pa program difficult to get into? Do the prerequisites have to be completed prior to applying or they could be pending while the application is in process for York? |

I graduated from Tour College in 1980. At that time just being a graduate from Touro opened many doors and there were many jobs that would only hire from Touro. I cannot imagine that their program has fallen. Best check your resources as Touro still has an outstanding reputation. |

I graduated from Touro in 2000. At that time it was still very reputable; however, one of the campus' was deemed pretty bad and was shut down. The administration has changed over since then. It totally depends on which campus you go to but I wouldn't say that Touro grads are 'not hirable'. Best of luck to you! |

It might have to do with the scam back in 2007, where the administrations were given out "false" degrees to students. However, I have yet to meet students that have good things to say about their program. I've heard bad things about the staff... |

I've yet to hear any good things from PA students in Touro...but hey, it's still a PA school, right? |
