I am currently a freshman at West Virginia University. They don't have a PA program here, but I know thats what I want to do. I was planning on either majoring in Biology or Medidcal Technology. Which one do you think would be better? Or is there a better major that I could enter to apply to PA school when I graduate? thanks |

It really doesnt matter what you major in as long as the pre-reqs are met. With that said, I would choose a mjor that will compliment PA studies. many choose science majors like Biology and cHemistry...some do the classic pre-med track because all of these have the major pre-pa courses....I chose a different route though. Look into your schools liberal studies or inerdisciplinary studies track. At my school I had to pick two areas to study from (i chose biomedical sciences and chemistry) and take 15 credit hours from both areas witha certain number having to be upper level courses. Then I had to choose a minor (health sciences). This major allowed me to pick exactly what classes I wanted to take without having to take classes I didnt need like calc and physics |

Arianna-Jefferson College of Medicine in Roanoke Virginia has a bachelors program. Check out the admission requirements and think about transfering. It will save you some time at school in the long run |
