To anyone in the forum who are already in PA school or PA grads, please help me:

My case is a little complicated. I have a Bachelors degree in Physiology. My undergrad GPA is not good at all (2.5 GPA, had many personal issues back then). However, I pulled myself together and graduated. But I have couple of Fail grades including Chemistry and Genetics but I did pass them in the end (never gave up).

Then, I went on to pursue 2 different Masters degrees in good university programs (hard science Masters with research, not easy ones, in fact one Masters in Genetics, which I had failed in undergrad once!). To my delight and by the grace of Jesus, I achieved a stellar GPA in both my Masters degrees (3.8 and 4.0).

I did not fail in any course during Masters degrees. I went on to work in the healthcare industry as a clinical scientist with patient contact and clinical duties for 5 years. My goal has always been to get into PA, a dream that was shattered when I scored a low GPA in undergrad. Now, after all these years, I want to get back and pursue my initial passion, a career as a PA. I now have a lot of life experience also that I gained by living and working in 4 different countries around the world over the past 5 years. I have excellent references from physicians with whom I worked and PA's I had shadowed.

Here is my question:

Given my bad undergrad GPA and also some Fail grades, will any PA school even look at my application? Is it even realistic to think that I can get into a PA program?

I appreciate the response from all the experts in the forum. Thank you kindly.

www.AWSurveys.com/HomeMain.cfm?RefID=caras03

ele paga $6 no primeiro comentario

Account/Payment

e segue as instruções para conseguir a PA(instruções em inglês)

Gogo PA xD

I'm currently in PA school. They seem to really take life experience into consideration. You can't even start my program without 1,000 patient experience hours. It would definitely be worth a try. You could contact a faculty member at a program you are interested in and they could tell you more about exactly what they are looking for. If you try and don't get in it would probably be helpful to take some of those undergrad classes again and bring up your undergrad gpa. I think mainly what they're looking for is that you are up for the challenge of PA school (and that you're competetive with other applicants) and you seem to have shown your intellectual ability through your masters work. That's just my 2 cents- I don't know if it really helps. I would definitely set up a meeting with a faculty member at a school you're interested in- if anything it would probably help to get to know someone and explain your problem.
