Why does it seem that, in TX at least, in order to get a job welding anymore you have to know someone? Why wont they even talk to you if you dont know someone? My husband has been welding for over 15 years, has a rig truck and is currently unemployed - but when he calls about the jobs he hears about - if the guys he talks to doesnt know him, he doesnt even give him the time of day. I'm sorry, but you shouldnt have to kiss ass to get a job. His welding speaks for itself.
Ok, enough of the rant... Anyone have any job info for Southeast Texas area? Rig, single whatever?
Anything would be greatly appreciated! God Bless you welders - Times are tough, but hang in there... this too shall pass!

prob because most of the pipe in Texas is finishing up. No need for them. If youve got a rig you should travel. There is plenty of work to be had you just have to go get it. A cousin of mine just graduated welding school LOl and landed a job in OK.
