The City of Plano invites you to apply as a Plano police officer. The Plano Police Department is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency with strong community relationship values. Historically, Plano achieves one of the lowest crime rates for Texas cities with population over 100,000. In 2006, Money Magazine ranked Plano number eleven in the nation of the top 100 best places to live. Policepay.net ranks Plano as the ninth highest police pay in the nation when adjusting for the cost of living. After 36 months of service, a Plano officer earns an annual salary of more than $68,000. You will find this is a tremendous career opportunity. Plano police officers are hired from an eligibility roster consisting of individuals who have successfully passed a police recruit civil service entrance examination. A registration form and instructions are available at www.planopolice.org. To be eligible to take the exam, a properly completed registration form must be received by the Civil Service Test Administrator before 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Follow the instructions. An admission slip will be mailed to you. The admission slip allows you entrance to the exam site. |
