Problem finding a job

I got my BLET certification 12/2007 and completed my in-service training in March 2008. I was a police officer from January to June 2008. I had resigned from the department I worked at in July. They thought I wasn't assertive enough, yet encouraged me to get hired on at another department. I feel the real reason was due to all the political turmoil going on at this department, which distracted the FTOs from really giving me the training I needed. Since then I have been unable to find employment elsewhere. Financially I am unable to move away from home. I've applied to other agencies in Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Madison Counties. I prefer not to drive more than 30 miles from Asheville. What can I do and where can I go?
