My opinion is: they are Lazy, incompetent, disgruntled and they are there just to collect a check.

I've been a cop for 20 years. Are cops sometimes lazy, yes. Aren't we all at times. Incompetent, every department has its share of idiots, they usually get promoted to lieutenant. You would be disgruntled too if you busted your @$$ every day and the city or municipality you worked for always wanted to take things away from you, like pay raises etc. Being proactive means you have to listen to more complaints from your supervisors even when you did nothing wrong and acted by the book. Collect a check?? You support a family of 5 on 45k a year, nobody is getting rich doing this job.

You forgot to mention OT. Also, most people would love to have an officers pension. Don't you also get free medical upon retiring after doing 25?
