Had mine on the 17th and still no word either.. Guess they're still sorting things out, patiently keeping my fingers crossed.

I have an interview with Valero in the near future, can anyone give any tips? Questions they ask, how many interviewers in the panel, length of interview. Do they give you any info such as pay levels, benefits and bonuses?

I was hired last year and the test isn't that bad. If you have any mechanical ability at all you should be fine. The math portion isn't bad either. At the end you will have to take a personality profile. There are some practice mechanical aptitude tests online that will be a good review. Good luck, Valero is a great company and the Houston plant is an awesome place to work.

No. You are not allowed calculators. I never heard of a refinery allowing calculators. If you're that worried you need to study up or just take the test.

Starting during training will be over $25/hr. They pay progression changes when you start and as you sign off on a unit. There is a difference in pay between 8hr days and shift work so it will vary.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. They interviewd 100 the first couple of weeks in February. I got an email the first week of March sying I wasn't selected, but I got a call that Friday from HR saying they had been authorized 5 more positions and they extended an offer.

Ardmore (Oklahoma) and Houston are hiring trainees right now, if I were you, I'd apply for those locations as well. Corpus just closed out too, so I hope you got into that one as well.

If you get called for a interview, message me and we can talk.
