ha ha cute. I have an x-ray job.

But that is legit. There actually was a tech from my hospital that relocated to Aubu Dahbi (excuse my spelling) and doesn't have to pay any income taxes because of that.

Indeed, after all that's where the money is and I'm sure it's good pay, if they don't behead you although you may have some trouble "brining home the Baccon"... Probably not a good place to work if your A) American, B) Jewish, C)Female,or God knows what else...what affect does x ray have on C-4 anyway?

*haha* i agree ^ ^ but, hey! you gotta do, what you gotta do right? atleast for some of you, that is =/ actually, it's exactly what i plan on doing after my education in the states. well, like most europeans. i'm multilingual myself as i'm originally from iceland and my mother's from russia. but, most of my family on both sides now reside in germany. so, i started learning german, through out my teen years upon moving to the states. actually, i was 9 to be exact and for the last 6 months i've been learning french through rosetta stone. although, my girlfriend's from paris. so yeah, she's helping to better it as well. for those interested in foriegn languages? i'd highly recommend "rosetta stone". yeah, it's a bit pricy. but, definitely an investment well worth it. good luck ^ ^

policeman? *haha* well, like you, i truly have nothing but the utmost respect for those individuals. i mean, the people and things that they so willingly do to protect our daily way of life. absolutely, speaks for itself and i'm sure is much appreciated by many including myself. but, to put your life on the line for a measely 40k annually? yeah... sadly is not for me. but thanks any way, wise ass ^ ^ my apologies by the way, as i initially had the impression you were an "unemployed" RT, to begin with... oops! =/ yeah, i came across one of your comments today. oh, the one that said? "i AM one of the lucky ones" *haha* 6 years and counting eh? sweet! bro, congrats!!! and you go with your bad self ^ ^

by the way, no! i'm not some random kid. but, a 23 y/o ironworker, just trying to find my niche in hopes of making the necessary steps to better my future someplace! in the healthcare industry. preferably, pharmacy[pharmacist] ^ ^ that is all. i recognise that there are no jobs in many! sectors of the medical field for the moment. but, i'm alright with that because i still got a long ways to go[pharmacist]. so, you can be sure i definitely won't be applying any time soon. look, i do see where your coming from[saturated market/ money] as i've read more than enough discussions here to both agree and disagree with you. i mean, seriously if there's anything i've learned so far in life. whether good or bad, is that it's one thing to always be aware and learn from other peoples experiences. but, still! you are not them and they are not you. so, just because things didn't go accordingly for many! really doesn't say awhole hell of alot about yourself and mean that you'll suffer the same fate because of it. then again, it really doesn't mean you won't either right? the reality of it all is simple in that nobody really knows what the future has in store for any of us. all we can really do is try! hope for the best and expect the worst unfortunately and hey, if destiny wills it? then so be it. but, if not? well, then life goes on and i suggest you get off that ass! and do something about it[overseas], because nobodies going to change it for you ^ ^ so, yeah... start learning some foriegn languages people. well, it clearly's not happenin in "america", right? but, to his/her own i always say.

"...opportunities are seldom in life and if you don't make the best of it, it'll pass you bye..."

you said it best for me in that you have to be extremely lucky. so, on that note... i'd feel awhole lot better just knowing that if i am ever lucky enough for such an opportunity someday, that i atleast will not only be ready for it. but, also qualified! and have the credentials to back it up[SIGH] well, that's the spirit any how *haha* so yeah... despite the market or what anyone has to say, i'm going to prepare myself for that opportunity nonetheless. after all, how can any of us even expect to have a chance in making a descent living or any advancement in the healthcare industry without a bachelors of some sort or better! to even come close to qualifying for those opportunities. like your job for instance. well, not necessarily your job, as i don't want you to feel as if i'm attacking you. because i'm not! but, you know what i'm talking about. i mean, it's not like you can send a resume with only a high school education and expect the hospital to be calling any time soon for an RT opening right ^ ^ so, whether any body likes it or not... what choice do we really have other than to give away our money[loan debt] to the very same institutes that have offered you! the opportunity to actually live the life[RT] that so many here crave most.

speaking of money? words truly cannot express how very sorry i am as i feel for sooooo many here with very impressive credentials/ resumes yet still without work and left struggling to pay off mountains of student loan debt =/ having said though, and believe me when i say that i really don't mean to come across the wrong way with any! of you. but, luckily for me it actually doesn't apply as my family's rather wealthy and no!!! i'm not bragging either. i mean, it's not like warren buffet's my neighbor or anything of that nature. but, just consider myself a little more fortunate in that aspect, that is all, okay? so yeah, no disrespect to those who are not ^ ^

by now i'm sure some of you are like wtf! an ironworker? *haha* yeah... well, there's a first time for everybody i suppose ^ ^ but, who knows eh? sadly though, not everyone in my family's on the same page[father] and i'll explain why? i mean, don't get me wrong, i really do enjoy being an ironworker and sharing both my elder brother/ fathers passion. huh, not to mention that it pays fairly well as i averaged just over 80k last 2 years[definitely! not this year]. well... $41.25[journeyman] x 8, 5 days a week. although week ends ARE optional[not for me ^ ^] and at times you're asked to work overtime as well, depending on deadlines. so yeah, you do the math. i'm sure you'll figure it out. the apprenticeship program, usually takes about 3 years to complete. but, it more or less depends on how busy the company you work for is. so yeah, the more you work, the better[faster]. then, after 6,000 hours that qualifies you for the journeyman exam and if you pass? hey! welcome to the club ^ ^. like any trade, the pay scale varies state to state and averages anywhere from $19.15 to $65.23 an hour[www.ironworkers.org/about/aboutus.aspx]. but, anyways, before i go i must say that my decision definitely surprised both my mother and girlfriend, for starters as both are actual nurses at kaiser permanente. huh, yeah, my mothers a CRNA and my girlfriends an LPN for the moment. now, as for the party pooper[father]? *haha* well, he's the president for the ironworkers union, here in hawaii. so yeah... go figure eh?

but, as for throwing random careers out there? *haha* i suppose i am guilty to some degree. though my initial intent really was radiography as i've always shared a fond interest in x ray imaging ever since i was a kid, growing up[11y/o, ankle sprain, pop warner football]. besides! from what i see RT's, are doing awhole alot more than just x rays these days eh[flouroscopy, computed tomography, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging]? so yeah, with that in mind i just thought? "wow, what an awesome opportunity to have" buuut, oh well... so much for that thought, many thanks to you! of course[it IS as bad as] ^ ^ anyway, the only other fields of interest left for me was sonography/ pharmacy and after weighing the 2? i just felt that my strengths were better suited for pharmacy, instead. i mean, i know it's been 5 years since highschool[amazing! how fast the years go bye eh?]. but, i did take both calculus/ ap chemistry my senior year. although, i'll gladly admit to not being the brightest of stars. still... was fortunate enough to have managed an a- in both subjects. currently, i've already made some steps for the most part and will be taking all my prerequisites at kapiolani community college[kcc] starting in spring and then pursue a bs in biochemistry either from hawaii pacific university[hpu] orrrr the university of hawaii- manoa[uh]. but, we'll see =/

i spoke to several pharmacist here and they all pretty much agreed that a bs in biochem, will more or less give me a leg up for pharm school or even nursing would also be a plus since they tend to have alot more interaction experience with patients then pharm techs. actually my girlfriend, mentioned nursing to me as an option. but, when i asked her is it possible i may have to wipe some poor old mans butt? yeah... her, smile said it all[NOPE! not for me ^ ^]. oh and they also recommended a sufficient amount of volunteering work as most schools don't really look into pharmacy experience much[hmm... i wonder why? ^ ^], especially! if one has a bachelors degree[really?]. but, when it comes down to it? a good gpa and pcat score is a must! so yeah... i was told to just focus on that and i should be fine[i hope]. speaking of pharm school? i really do like what i see at the university of texas- austin, the university of michigan- ann arbor and the university of florida. buuut, it's definitely much too soon for such things. so yeah, first things first. oh, and as for your hint[online schools]? *haha* point taken ^ ^ but, it's just so convenient considering eh?

now as for what "I" think it takes to become a pharmacist? huh... ooh, i'll have to get back to you on that one ^ ^ clearly, i wouldn't know just yet. then again, when i was 18, i remember my father asking me that very question before joining the union and like him, i'll give you that very same answer? "only time will tell" *haha* seriously though... i know it's going to take absolutely everything in me AND some. but, if there's anything i hate most? it is when somebody tells me what i can and cannot do[no, implications]. like i said before? "i've got a loooooooooooooonnnnnggg ways to go". but, i'm very much looking forward to it and i soooo cannot wait to make it happen ^ ^

Alright, as long as you appreciate what you'll be getting into. All I'm going to say is that there are some schools out there that also offer grade forgiveness for classes like O-chem and such (which basically means you can take them a second time if you mess up once) so that may be worth looking into if your serious.

Also, if possible you may want to get a BS that can give you a leg up in Pharm-D acceptance and also would let you get a real world job. (That is if you won't be relying on your iron-worker pay at that point)

Sorry for the hard time, it appears I've underestimated you.
I feel you've made a wise decision and wish you luck.
Now go make it happen.

You really dont need any BS degree for pharmacy, all you need is all the prereqs. But, Pharm school is really competitive, so a high gpa, high PCATs and some experience in a pharmacy are a must. I was actually working towards pharmacy before getting into radiological sciences, but I hated every second of o-chem and didnt want to be dealing with chem for the rest of my life.
