Can I switch mentor (supervising appraiser) while being a trainee?

Hi! I'm considering becoming a trainee appraiser in New Jersey. I'm concerned what would happen if I have to leave my supervising appraiser, for one reason or another, before I'm able to accumulate needed hours to qualify for a certified appraiser. Can I accumulate trainee hours from different supervising appraisers, or do I have to start over all again if I make the switch (which I would hate to do, naturally).

Thanks for any answers and advice you can provide to me!

In NY and CT you can move from supervisor to supervisor- you just need to keep good records and get the supervisor to sign off on your log. Not sure about NJ- it's probably very similar -check with licensing authority in NJ>
