richa in Pune, India said: hi sir, i am doing good. everything is fine here. i will start searching for job soon. but hearing to all these peopl...i am getting scared.... Hey Rich, I am scared to death as well. I think the best thing u can do is start some volunteer work in a hospital if it is available there, that way u will know about any openings in that hospital. I am planning to do volunteer work to set a foot in the hospital and after that may be I will get a job there. We do have a job placement program in our university but number of applicants exceeds available jobs. And the worst thing is nobody wants to hire an inexperienced RT, how can we get an experience if they don't even give us a chance. I know it is a hard time but hang in there. Good luck with everything. |

kurinjihospital@yahoo.co.in in Madras, India said: Lots of Jobs available in india.Dont lose hope .Dont get worried .I sure you will get a nice job .Be positive and stay focused.Think other than working in hospital.like Home Care,Company,Sleep Clinic,Instructor to just a name a few. Existing hospitals are hiring RTs. But since there is a plethura of new grads ( i think it is called freshers over there) the hospitals can pick and choose who they think is the strongest canidate. As for the salary it has went up. But it is highly competitive getting a job as a CRT/RRT. |

Excuse me, first of all and most of all, it is Ms.Nimisha!! and second of all Dhruti, Richa and I are looking for some guidance/assistance for our RT carrier. Has anybody given any good or constructive advice or direction so far, no. I see that most people in this panel are trying to set their personal scores instead of helping the people who could really use that help. If u really want to inform people about an opening in Saudi, u can do it as a civil person as well. ITS MISS THEN,PARDON ME..BUT YOU AS A NEWBIE TO THIS FIELD MIDEAST MIGHT BE DIFFICULT FOR YOU.MY ADVISE IS GET SOME EXPIRIENCE THERE IN U.S.,ATLEAST A YEAR OR TWO THEN GO TO MIDEAST WHERE YOU CAN EARN TAX FREE PLUS OTHER BENIFITS.BE SCARED,BE VERY SCARED..ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE THOUGH.SOME EVEN JUST DONT MAKE IT WITHIN PROBATIONARY PERIOD.SORRY TO TELL THIS BUT THATS THE REALITY.THERE ,I HOPE ITS CIVIL ENOUGH. |

Hi Dear RT'S, why are you fighting and commenting each other, being a RT, we should think of development, how to improve RT profession and how to form a council like other professions, better to discuss about skills and new methods of clinical practice, how to improve continuous education, we should concentrate on these things to improve ourselves. we should be a ideal for future RT's, so that they can work without any problem, this forum should be for discussions, not a stage for fighting and bad commentining on RT field. i would like to suggest that whoever entered into this field, will be getting enough money for their survival rather than PT's, so we should be happy practing RT. so better communicate each other and try to inform about jobs in india, for RT's who dont have jobs, so that they can fulfill their lives. see u

I have been reading all these past couple of days. I don't understand why we Indians try to trash our country or its people. I did most of my education in India before moving here to pursue further study and I can say that it is best in the world. Almost all the Indians coming to Canada, USA, Australia have minimum bachelors degree, doesn't it say something? Do you guys know the percentage of high school drop outs in USA? Lot of people claiming here that they have worked under CRTs and RRTs from US, didn't you learn any professionalism from them? They are best not because country provides them with opportunity, they are good human being to begin with. The ironic thing here is most people trashing our country are not even working in India, how can they say horrible things while they are vacationing there. This forum has become a gossip column. Every third day I see some obnoxious person complaining about someone else. If you guys are seniors then take some lessons from RRTs, they are perfect in their work because they help each other. I have seen some RTs working double shift to help out a colleague. If you want to praise CRTs and RRTs then praise them but not at the cost of your own country men. My class mates and people all over the world read this forum so I request you to behave. If you guys utilize your energy to help out your patients, respiratory care will become outstanding. Please talk about respiratory care that others can benefit from rather then writing essays about useless stuff. |

You make the same mistakes while writing as one of my known person used to do. I think your name is only a alias not a true one. Well next time while commenting show some manners and dignity and please try to avoid filthy language as much as possible. You can lie about things but upto a certain extent. Thank you |

bhanu in San Francisco, California said: Hi Nisha, Hi Bhanu, I am RT student in NJ. You must have done some research regarding Respiratory Therapy. I suggest that u go to www.aarc.org, click on carrier link and find out more, they also have a life and breath videos which will guide u more. If u want to become an RT then first u should find an accredited program in your state. All RT practitioners are required to be licensed and one of the requirements of state licensure is to be a graduate of an accredited school of respiratory care. U can go to www.coarc.com to find out about accredited programs. If you are a people person and love to work with technology then this is the right field for u. Job responsibilities of respiratory therapist include oxygen therapy, humidification and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, CPR, maintenance of artificial airways and ventilator management. RTs can work in hospitals, in rehabilitative centers, in nursing homes, in patient's homes as well as in doctors office. When u find an accredited program, u can ask program director for a job shadow of an RT that way u will know what is involved before u make your decision. I hope this helps and good luck with everything. |

Dear Respire, I am happy with my English and the way I write English, because English is not my Mother tongue. I am not a cross bread to get a fluent English, I don’t know You feel bad or Good with My English, But I don’t mind at you and any one I believe that I can give a Good Respiratory Care to a Patient instead of writing a Good English. I am not a Respiratory Therapy teacher or I won’t Interest in teaching RT in English. Even to teach and pass a message we don’t want that good English, we need the English the way I am writing for communication. Please if You are that Interested in my English communication you open a English teaching school and stop you RT profession. Mind Your Business and talk true about RT profession in India. My dear I am not your friend nor I am known to you and I am not alias. I think what ever I wrote in the panel every one understood the good and bad about RT profession in India except You. If You dint Understood that’s Your bad luck .I cant Help You. One thing is rite: what ever I wrote about RT profession in India and abroad is correct, its rite and I wrote all the truths as I received information from my RT fellows working with me at Saudi. My Dear RT’s in India, I am happy to see this RT blog, but I am not happy to read many unwanted and irrelevant messages and fighting’s in this blog. I was working as an Assistant Professor, In Charge and Course Coordinator for the RT department at Manipal. My self is a Respiratory Therapy Educator from India and I am a product of the most Respectful Respiratory Therapy Department of Manipal University here in India. Our RT department is one of the excellent departments which aimed to maintain an International standard in providing RT education and training in this Nation. We had a tie-up with one of the USA based University to provide an ASRT programme for the Indian RT’s to make eligible them to appear CRT/RRT exam of NBRC,USA. We also started Masters in Respiratory Therapy at Manipal. Most of our Manipal RT students are placed in various continents with high salaries. Most of the Indian Hospital willing to pay high salaries for the Manipal based RT’s only. There is a reason myself writing in this panel, since 20 days I am keep on observing and reading the messages posted by the RT’s from India and various countries. Among the all the messages only few messages are relevant and acceptable as per my view. I am unable to digest some wrong information is providing by some of the unknown persons about our RT department. Please don’t believe them. Yes In India the RT profession is still in the infancy stage and we are planning to improve the profession as we grow older and older and as the times moves ahead. I am not happy with some one commented about Manipal and Manipal RT education.I kindly request the person who ever commented and planning to comment about our RT department please feel free to visit our RT department once at Manipal and observe the way we are training our RT students. There is no doubt our RT department at Manipal is one of the best department in this Nation.

What is wrong with all these people? Why don't you discuss different protocols or other treatment modalities here rather then making personal attacks or using foul language. Why don't you guys maintain professional and informative environment for all the readers. If you don't have something important to contribute, leave this forum and join some other non professional forum. |

There is pointless bickering here all the time. When Dhruti and I started this thread we were hopeful that we will definitely get some insight into respiratory practice in India but only thing we got out of all these is that respiratory is at infancy in India and salary is not so good. If u r looking for some useful information I suggest that u browse through other respiratory threads on Indeed web site. |

My Dear Stupid Russel,RRT,NPS,RSGPT,MPH , Carolina stop your comments about our Indian RTs or else You come to India we will show what is our Clinical knowledge. The Manipal Faculties are the best RT faculties in India even they have their CRT and RRT certifications from USA. You even can’t reach till their foot. They may write some spelling mistakes while typing; we can’t blame them for all. I think You learned only about Ultrasonic Neb, but our Indian RTs know about all kind of equipments, yes we don’t use Ultrasonic Nebs frequently in India. Keep Your Mouth shut and look your own business. Only Manipal RT department is one of the big and an Independent RT department in India. |

Dear PT diverted RT-Technician, (Arunprasad)-PGDRT, What do You know about RT profession??? Did You finish your Bachelors in RT ????, Doing two years RT after your PT will make you a good Respiratory Physio but not a RT. we will consider you as a RT Technician as per the UGC regulations. Even a layperson can do many things if we train him without theory knowledge, but we can’t call him as a Doctor or Therapist. We will appreciate your Technical work at KMCH. Why cant you people try to do some Surgeries related to heart and Lung, I think Your Physios diverted RTs will do Surgeries if some one give a chance, but don’t forget You all will sit in a jail to count the Jail Bars. Please do respect your own profession, if you really want to become a RT please do again 4 years RT grads. |

Good Mr and Half Doctor. Arun Prasad. Please tell every one that you are a Physio based Respiratory Therapist. Physios suppose to do practice of Physical Treatment related to any organ, but Physios are not accepted to do or interfere in the Invasive Procedures like ET suction and touching the Ventilators. You Physios don’t have rites to touch a Ventilator. I told already please do respect your profession and don’t malpractice some once profession. In India our Karnataka is the only state offering a standard RT programmes at RGUHS and Manipal. There is no demand for your PTs in India that’s why you PTs are diverting your profession to RT by doing some Diploma courses. If You you practice your own PT profession then you will be respected by the society, or if you practice RT with your two years PG-Diploma you will be treated as RT -Technician. Please re do RT Graduation to become a proper Respiratory Therapist. |
|
Santosh in Secunderabad, India 49 months ago |
Mr. Arun Prasad this is RTs panel not PTs, kindly don’t come and irritate us. I think You read all the scraps and fighting’s between our own RTs in this panel, then why you are coming in-between and irritating us. Please start your own Physio Panel and sink in to that. I will support to Ramya for writing such a comments on you. If I am in Ramya place I would have given better than Ramya. |

U r right, genuine people don't have to write their degrees DR, RRT, RPFT, NPS, RSGPT (which is by the way spelled wrong it is RPSGT- registered polysomnographic technician) to impress the crowd. Their knowledge is sufficient enough to provide the proof and the sad thing is, u don't see any knowledgeable statements here. |

Dear Santosh Thanks for you support. PTs in India is planning to destroy our RT profession. They don’t have any other jobs; PTs are getting paid around RS 2,000 to 5,000 per month in Tamilnadu and all over the India, except North. A MSc PT fellow getting just 8,000 to 12,000 per month where a 4 years fresh RT is getting paid around rs 12,000 to 15,000 and above per month. This is the reason they PT guys stop practicing their Massage parlors and body massage shops and trying their level best to jump in to RTs profession. All RTs be aware of bogus PT based RTs in India, they are just PT based Cardio Resp PTs only, but they are not RTs. They are advertising themselves as RTs. Some physicians in our India are the main culprits, to get a good name and self marketing they are initiating the RT programmes, just they are starting some useless RT-Diplomas for PTs and BSc life Science students. |

Dear Caylee, Brampton You Better Try in UAE, or USA, Here in India no way, You will get around 200 usd to 500 usd. I think U cant survive in India. Here in India Physicians are well paid, very less salaries for the Nurses, therapists and technicians. Its just quite Opposit to USA and Canada. Please try to work in Canada or USA or You may opt UAE for good salaries. |
