Tot he original poster...I graduated from a REspiratory therapy school in 2006 and worked on my OPT for a year, but was unable to find a hospital that sponsored H1 B visas. I gave up and went back to get my masters degree (MBA). Now i am again looking to find a sponsor and it is the same story all over again. LEt me know if you have had any luck |

Since these two things dont match and RT's dont fall under the nursing category, H1B is not a possibility. Sorry for the bad news. If you hear anything different let me know as well.

Dont do respiratory if u have a choice...because H1B is not available for RTs as it just needs an associate degree. My personal experience.. |

thanks for your info.....but what if I have my bachelors degree evaluated here as a equivalent bachelors.........I am going to take this Associate degree as additional....... |

sandhya in Overland Park, Kansas 25 months ago |
Its the same case with me...I have BSc evaluated from here and I am graduating on 21st with AAS in RT. And I have been doing research on this since 6 months now..my lawyer told me this...tht they dont issue work visa for RTs as it only requires an associates to work...but if you still have doubts you can talk to a lawyer. |

Please dont do Respiratory Therapy courses in US, as some one wrote above RT profession is not elgbl for applying and issuing H1B visas to work in USA. When COarc and AARC will stop Certificate courses and Diploma courses in RT and when they make Bachelors in RT is minimum qualification then only there is a small hope for RTs to get H1 visa from ou side USA. |

Actually you can get a job and sponsor in H1B if that hospital is offerring you a position so complex that cannot be done without a bachelors degree. In that case the position won't be typical RT position. Secondly, if you have the liscense to work on that adds to. The glitch is that you will rarely find any hospitals doing that. Else I think one of the northern states require a bachelors degree to work as an RT in that state, you might want to find that out too. Good luck! |

out side US guys please dont waste your time in US by doing US RT diplomas, Bachelors and Masters you wont get any sponsorship and visas to work in US and RT profession is not make u elgbl to wrk in US. |

Hi, I heard from Immigration Lawyer RT profession is not eligible to getting H1 visa in US because RT profession offred at associate level as minimum qualification, in case they offer minimum qualification as bachelors level then out side candidates with US RT degree will be eligible to get H1 visa. This is 100% correct information. You can get H1 but you have to get high level position job and more salary for the position, no one will do that when they have many local RT candidates. Dont do RT in US, You dont get any jobs. |

Let's get through this. You cannot get Visa sponsorship for CRT/RRT/CPFT/NPS/SDS/etc. This is a government mandate that cannot be pushed aside, no matter if you have another degree. To attain sponsorship for the H1-B visa you have to be hired for a specialized position which a specializd degree is required, that degree being a bachelor's or higher.

I happen to be a RT licensed to practice in Washington State. Do you have a personal email address so we can communicate via emails. When in comes to vital informations I prefer communicating is by email. I am the only solution to your problem. By the way, you said. There is no National Board in the Phils. You're wrong! It used to be none up untill the first quarter of 2009 when President Macapagal Arroyo, signed the RT bill. |

hi "Dan in North Hills, California" H1B Visa or what they commonly call is a working visa.
1.)Scarcity of the position required? X-sorry too many RT's available around unless you can go to a an area where there's absolutely no RTs around , this will be hard to prove. 2.)The position available should be a minimum of Bachelors degree program, X-sorry RT requirements is not necessarily a bachelors degree requirement, even though the applicant has a BS degree. lastly H1B are hard to come by now a days even for nursing.Millions Americans dont have jobs USCIS will not give this jobs away. just to give you an example almost 100% of my hundreds of my job applications made me agree to a waver that "I will not require Visa sponsorship in the future" and they strictly require a green card,US birth certificate or Certificate of Naturalization before employment. I am sorry to disappoint you I am just letting you know the reality Goodluck and Godbless |
