Hello!! I am debating whether or not to go into the RT field or Physical Therapist Assistant Field! I'm stuck I know I want to help anyone who is asking for help and needing it. I also want to make sure that if I do go into one of these fields that I made a good decision especially if I'm in school for about 2 years without pay! I've looked online and have done my research but I still feel a little apprehensive when it comes down to which profession will be more profitable for myself and my family! Any info. will be greatly appreciated especially those currently in the DFW AREA!!!!

Go with your gut feeling. The pay scale of a respiratory therapist is only slightly more than what a physical therapist assistant would get. An associate in respiratory therapy takes just 20 months. You can get a job with an associate degree and continue further studies towards a degree if that’s what you’d like. Whatever you decide do, make sure you study from a college that has received accreditation by a recognized body. You might want to check out Stevens Henager College and its accreditation. Their respiratory therapy program has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, which is a reputed, recognized accreditation body.
