I have been looking for a job for a year now to no avail. I have both RCP & RRT. Sent application to atleast 20+ hospitals but not 1 scheduled me for an interview. What is my chance of finding a job? |

My hubby is a respiratory therapist. He graduated from SMC and ELC in SoCal. He said that he didn't even have to find a job when he graduated from college, all offers coming in even before he graduated and he picked the teaching hospital in East LA. But that was 6-7 years ago, my hubby just got his RRT last year. He said RT is still in high demand esp night-shift, try nursing care facility if you cannot get hospital jobs yet. They just preferred someone who have experience, this does not mean RT is fading out. I am a Certified Coding Specialist (Medical coder), just got certified and it is hard for me to get a job too. Almost hospitals I applied for want 2-3 years experience even if I have good coding credentials. I think the problem is almost hospital freeze hiring and they don't want to train new staffs, I will try to start with paid internship or volunteer |

Do you try USC University Hospital or White Memorial Hosptal yet? My husband got his job at USC 6-7 years ago after he got his A.A and RCP. He didn't even have any experience yet. But I can see that right now, they won't do that anymore. If you got good GPA or Dean's list, don't forget to put in on your resume. Try night-shift position, better paid and less competitive than dayshift. My husband just got his RRT 6 months ago. USC just required employees to take RRT last year. If you have any question regarding RT, just click on my name and send me a message and I will ask my husband. |

Hi I talked to my husband this morning, he said he saw many new respiratory therapists at his facility, not so sure why they didn't pick you. He said he can give your resume to his boss directly if you want. Just send resume to my email address (click on my name). Just want to help. Kate |

I am not recruiter and cannot help you get a job, my husband can just help in pass your resume to respiratory therapy department directly, but I cannot help everyone, just this DesperateRT only. You have both CRT and RRT, which is very good for new graduate.. |

My husband said he didn't believe that a new graduate who have both CRT and RRT cannot find a job. He said he can pass on your resume to his boss directly. Better than send to HR at USC. |
