What is the best training for becoming a restaurant bartender? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective restaurant bartender?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

Attend bartending school. Mine was 40 hours and $550.00. You recover that money fast in tips. Learn your drinks and learn them well. Above all, show interest in your customers at the bar. Smile, greet them (by name if you can), and ask how their day's been goin'. Don't let those glasses get empty. :) HAVE FUN!

You also need to be either "TiPs" or "Bar Code" certified.
