What do you enjoy most about being a roofer? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

dont do roofing........the pay is lousy......the benefits are lousy and its back breaking work. i made more in 1974 then i make today

DONT DO ROOFING WHY IS THAT??? I love rooofing it is the best thing i have ever done i started 5 years ago and i fell in love with it i found a guy that had been a roofer for 25 years he toke me under his wing 2 years after i started working for him i went to lousiana and i worked my ass off for them people and i made a killing down there i got 1/2 of all the roofs that we did . i get payed goood money to rooof in alaska now i make 1500 a week and some times more . i now the pay for roofing has not gone up in many years and we all now that and it needs to change. i have been in construction for years and i get payed more as aroofer then any thing eles.. we i love rooofing and i will do it till i cant do it any more..

ONE THING I LOVE ABOUT ROOFING. IS VIEW FROM THE TOP. I WORKED IN CALI. THE BAY AREA. PEOPLE PAY ALOT OF MONEY FOR THOSE HOUSES AND NEVER GET TO SEE WHAT WE (ROOFERS) GET TO SEE. I WORKED IN FLORIDA, KENTUCKY, CALI, WASHINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA, I'VE ALOT OF DIFFERENT THING THAT THE HOME OWNERS DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT. STARTED AT YOUNG AGE AND LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT. PEOPLE SAY I MUST BE CRAZY TO ROOF BUT IF THAT'S WHAT TAKES THEN CALL ME CRAZY
