What are typical route sales representative salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

I am an employee of Cadbury-Schwepps, formerly All American Bottling. Basically, the organization of which I work , is in total disaray. The pay leaves something to be desired, about half of what other companies pay. It has been an learning experience, not one that I would recommend to anyone interested in the soda/beverage industry. |

I work for frito lay as a sales rep. Yes some companys pay more. I am not happy with the pay that I receive. The more I Grew the route the more they took so I don't try to grow like I use to. I am looking to buy a route with a different company at this time. |

You want my opinion? Stay out of route sales, particularly Direct Store Deliver. I have been in it 15 years, whether on a route or in managment. You get treated badly, and companies are always making a run at your pay. When you grow a route, the company will cut it. Honestly, it's a BS job. Look elsewhere. |

I'm with you on my location as well it still is in disaray almost everyone except managers and sales people have been employed less than a year drivers, merchandisers, and warehouse personnel. I knew someone that worked for the competition and liked it in fact they are still there but then again they are union so that helps. |

Salaries vary from Company to Company...but this particular company (All American Bottling aka Cadbury-Schwepps aka Dr. Pepper / Snapple Group) pays less than minimun wage is you do the math. AND,you can can do the math...forget ever trying to move-up through the ranks. In my 5 years with this company, I got zero, notta, nothing in the way of a raise. AND, they always hired from outside the company...former Coke , Pepsi etc.. people who mysteriously "left" or "vacated" their position with their respective companies to come to work here. The pay was $66.00 a day with anywhere from 6-12 stops... and you used your personal vehicle in the process. In short....$19,800.00 GROSS is not exactly "gettin it done"!! |

I work for Interstate Brands corp Hostess Wonderbread, I have had a great experience with this company in comparison to much of what I have read in this forum. We have full benefits and the pay is not bad, in fact i personally have the lowest paying route as i am the low "gal" thats right "gal" on the totum pole. I look forward to my future with our company! The hours are very long but hey it's a great job! And in these days those are words that are hard to find. Keep the faith! |

never buy a sara lee bread route! now that b.imbo has purchased them...it may or may not get any better. the bread businesses likes to take advantage of you by adding surplus product to your route from the bakery....this is illegal...but try and say something and you will have managers all over your route nit picking all ur stores and causing problems for you. So you end up eating the stale cost and most likly getting lectured by your depot guy for having excessive stale % (which they will chage you for if u r not good with words) |

is you try and get a route here in austin be careful of Mark Abbott. He used to work with Sara Lee and now works for bimbo. He will tell you anything to get you to buy the worst route he has. He will lead you to believe he will help you. But if it means it affects his bonus than you are s.o.l there is such a thing as an MDA marketing development allowance. My paychecks were less than 300 several weeks in a row and he refused to give any assistance. If you report the management for behavior like this. All of a sudden you will be getting written up for things you dont do and screwed with all sorts of things. BE CAREFUL! |
