I started driving in Oct.86 right after I turned 21. I have worked for 2 large local districts, stayed with the last one for almost 7 years. I left for a time back in 1995. During my time off I got a A.A.S degree in Business and graduated with honors. I got back into the school bus industry in September 2006 with the same district I left from. Got all my endorsements on my CDL. I have a total now of 11+ actual years driving time behind the wheel. I have a clean license with no accidents or tickets. I am not a fair weather driver, I haven't been out sick since I started back, when I left originally I lost 46 days that had accrued. What I'd like to do is move up to being a driver/trainer. I want to earn my 19-A examiner license and get my SBDI. My goal is to become a master instructor. Because I had to start all over again with my district, I lost all seniority and my previous experience doesn't count towards my current employment. It is as if I never drove before and can't advance. Suggestions on how to move up the ladder? I have wanted to do more within the school transportation field, but how or where should I look to begin? Thanks! |

Did you find what you were looking for? I'm curious. I see what you wrote was 16 months ago. |

And I am going to have to since it looks like my driving days are at a end since I fractured my ankle in 3 places. I'll have to try some next month to see if I can get in as a dispatcher or office work in a transportation office. Or just go finish my BA(I have 86 credits) and go into something else all together. Sad after all these years my knowledge isn't valuable to someone. |
