I work at a food factory and I'm not looking f/ward to spending my life working there. I would like to get into my own sewing business, I do have one now but I don't know how to get more customers...I have ads in the paper. I'm also thinking on going into quilt making....how do I get my business out for the public to see. |

Hi everyone! My name is Mariah and I am a 26 year old married mother of a 4 year old boy and soon to be twin boys in December. I am about to get a patent on new baby product and I need a manufacturer. The product is very simpe in design but I need someone who can create a pattern to work with me while I develop the prototype. I have very little experience with sewing and I couldn't read a pattern to save my life. I am willing to work out a payment plan for anyone who is willing to help me embark on this adventure that will undoubtedly make millions in the years to come. I'm not saying it will be easy but I am willing to do whatever it takes! |

I'm also thinking on going into quilt making....how do I get my business out for the public to see. Hi There! When I started my alteration business back in 1990, I visited all of the local dry cleaners. I gave them my business card and asked them to send me any customers that their alteration ladies didn't have time to do. I received quite a few referrals from the cleaners. I rented a small shop and rented one of those flashing signs, (I think it was 50 bucks for a month back then), and I advertised 'Grand Opening--Special--Pants Hemmed $5.00'......It really generated a lot of business.....Other than the yellow pages and flyers in local grocery store parking lots, I just waited on word of mouth....If you're good and do quality workmanship, the business will come to you....Good seamstresses are a dying breed....Good Luck!! Shirley |

A few years ago I had an idea that I wanted a patent for and invested quite a bit of money in it and they just kept wanting more money....So be careful out there!! If you would like to e-mail me, please feel free to do so. I have designed and created garments, van seats, keychains (sewn ones), and other various things all my life....Let me know!!..Thanks! Shirley p.s....I'm originally from Boaz, Alabama...that's up on Sand Mountain. My family is still there...:) |
