I am starting an on-line business and one of the products to be offered is a "faux" sherpa dog bed cover. It is meant to be a replacement cover for round pet beds. We will probably be offering it in 4 sizes: 25", 36", 44" and 54" diameters. Each bed will be made in two pieces and will have a nylon zipper closure, probably a 24" zipper. The fabric, which I have not sourced yet, will most likely be polyester or polyester/acrylic sherpa. We would probably want a relatively small quantity to start (perhaps 50-100 pieces), and then place orders periodically based upon demand.

Is this something you would be interested in? If so, could you please give me a ballpark quote as to the price per piece for labor?

Hi Diane, I know I am far away, but online biz is a step away. I am familiar with the coil zipper, and the poly fleece, have worked with dog bed (including upholstery vinyl) and covers for futons and more since 1980. I think I could cut and sew for good rate, and may be able to drop-ship per customer also, since I am familiar with that too. When you get customer requests, the request gets made and shipped. We can talk...my business email is tamaracktales@aol.com and I have started a blog on www.merchantcircle.com if you look there you will see what Tamarack Tales is doing in Oregon. Susan

Hi Diane, Just checking back with you to see if you have found what you are looking for. In my recent works, I found a great source for the sherpa fleece and as I said before, working with the coil zipper 'by the yard' is a good thing. My estimate on production for small to large is dependent upon whether I supply the fabric and zipper. If you supply, it is small to large $3.75 up to $7.00. Please let me know if you are still interested in this project, Thank You, Susan tamaracktales@aol.com
