Hi all,

I would like to start taking in alteration etc. out of my home. What should I charge ? I would be hemming pants, re-sizing clothes, other repairs, patches etc.

Thanks,

Christine

You need to charge by the hour for most things, but with hemming I start out at $10.00 for a regular hem. Invisible, linned, or any other reguests are more. Remember that they are paying you for your time and skill. Good luck, I have been doing this for the public for 6 years now, been sewing for 30+.
