i have been out of school for 9 months and have been working perdiem for the past 3 months as a G.I tech i have taken the National cert exam and passed it!! but still cannot get a full time tech job very few places are willing to train a new tech even if you are certified!!! i have even applied for L&D G.I lab and even instrument tech and still cant find anyone to hire me im starting to loose hope in this Career any advice drop me a line.

No Techs last forever till they retire as Surg Tech. Most thinks of an upscale job and they will leave their post when they finish. There will always be openings for those job. I beleive it too and it will come as I am also a job seeker hoping for such. Be patient, the tide will turn on your favor.

I know that MOST schools will help you with Job placement. Just ask them for some help!

Are YOU SERIOUS? Job placement was a joke for my school HAHA they can barely even find sites for O.R Rotation students and if you get a site its somewhere hella far and Gas isnt Free!

I am also a tech I havent took my certification yet, but Im working on it. I graduated 8/07 and I havent found a job yet just stay positive and something will come your way at least you are certified you have techs in hospitals who are not even certified. I will be taking the same exam to what type of questions are on there and what should i really focus on before taking the test.
