Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

Salary varies by restaurant. Don't expect to earn a fortune; this is an experience-based career. Top earners in this field probably make over $100,000 yearly considering they own a restaurant. Most restaurants pay more for the skills you've acquired. Highly skilled chefs make more than budding chefs. |

salaries vary on location. presentable sushi chef can earn more than $100,000 annually in a nice located restaurant.most customers cares mostly on how you treat them. being nice to them and having an educational conversation with them while making their sushi will earn you a most deserved tip. |

Considering you only get one chance (if at all) to impress your possible employer at an interview. Depending on if you work FT or PT, you could make anywhere from $8 plus tips to $12 tips working part time(assuming you have atleast 1 -2 years experience in making things like maki, futomaki and tekkamaki). on the other hand, if you work full time you will most likely be on salary if you do not work for a franchise. this means you will be paid for somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 - 60 hours a week, depending on the hours of the restaurant. most sushi chefs make between 2400 and 4500 a month (and possible tips)... so next time dont feel bad when you don't tip the chef behind the bar, he's loaded... |
