What do you enjoy most about your tow truck driver career?

What do you enjoy most about being a tow truck driver? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

What I enjoy the most is when I get up at 2:00 a.m. raining and have to go and get a wreck. It can be very fun and enjoyable alot of the times. What I disliked is that sometimes you go to a scene and you don't know what to expect. I went to a few wrecks where it made my stomach turn, and would think why am I doing this. I really don't like seeing kids in real bad wrecks, that almost makes you want to quit your job. I also do heavy duty towing and that can be exhausting when you are at a bad wreck with the truck turned over. But it is challenging at times, and you always learn something new almost everyday, and your skills will always advance.

i do agree on your honesty about your job.. i too have been in many situations where theres fatalitys,, not a pretty site and always remember the bad ones.. especially teenagers.. up in oregon there is always a recovery due to road conditions and weather, most kids drink and drive being impaired.. i remember in 1997 there was two different wrecks due to alcohol with kids driving behind the wheel of a jeep, all but one survived on both accidents..
learning is a every day thing in this field even if you go on auto pilot. safety is the most important thing ..

i like the freedom of being on the road. i like the challenges.some of the people you meet are cool most are dicks. i like stealing peoples cars legally..i like getting to know the police officers so you can get away with speeding tickets..lol..things i hate would be changing tires, the pay, the attitudes people give you. taking someones car who has a baby seat in it.the owners of the company are usually screwing with your pay...the time you dont get to spend with your family depending on your hours. and the fact that when its slow u make jack if you work off commission...i hate that everytime you work day and night when you get home after your day shift to try to eat supper or take a shower you always get a call...and thats about it

i enjoy the big rig drivers talking to them on the cb its fun i love working with my dad i get so happy when i get to work hayyy people i love to get tips when im working!!!!! lol im 13 almost 14 ill be 14 on jan 25,2009

there's nothing better then geting to the call scraching your head and thinking who the hell am i gonna get this one you run out your cable get your bridle and start at it and if the moon and stars aline everything works out without a hitch then theres that call we all have had one two or god knows how many were nothing gose right your bloody wet and can get out of your own way

i love the challenge of my job thats what gets me up every day and out the door the worse the weather is the harder the call the theres nothing like it lack of sleep ha you sleep when you die and then theres the haul that long ass drive the windows down ice coffee on the dash country on the radio nothing in the world like it
