If companies are now considering towing cars a "career". I think they should start paying us like its a "career" and not like a part time inbetween job.

Im starting a small towing business and i will need a driver to work 3 days a week since i have a regular job for those days. If normal in town tows run about 50.00 how much should i pay him? Hourly is out of the question. He will be paid as a separate contractor on 1099. Any feedback would be helpful. He will need to help find work and he'll be paid for tows we do for his contacts on his days off for around a 5% commision on top of his normal pay. Help me out here fellas. I want to be fair but i dont want to break the bank.
