How did you get your start doing travel agent work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

i'm looking forward for an Travel agent to vacant my contacts in Maldives. but yet i havent succeed. i believe all agent are decent, hard workers which brought there success.

Yes you need education, and you will learn on the job to service your clients needs.

It is basically classes on Travel and Booking Vacations. Since we have the internet you have a greater chance of being successful, a friend of mine is making good money in Travel only in two years. You can get training from CLIA, and the OSSN websites for more info. Also other sites by doing searches on google.

Today it is really simple when I started a few years ago I started working for a small Travel Store to learn, but even that was all on the job training, they finally went out of business recently. I liked it because I had hopes of doing it from home one day. Now it is all I do...
