At Home Travel Agents share your Stories, Education

I am a new Start up, I have been around Travel for a long time because my sister was an agent, then I worked for the airlines and now I have started my own Agency.

I find it can be difficult when your all alone, but with a loyal client base you can build it. I am finding a lot of help from the OSSN and the IATA sites.

I hope that people will come here and share their stores as well and where they get their education on Travel.

I was a travel agent for 10 years with a local agency. I am now taking care of my elderly mother and need to work from home. Is there any agencies that need help from someone who can not go into an office every day? I don't really want to have my own business but would rather work for an already established company.

Homebased Vs retail agencies work differently in each state. Do you plan on working through a host agency or are you starting out entirely on your own? Also, do you plan on having a store front or will you be homebased?

i am planning to start an independent online business with a very niche focus. The business will be based in NY, but will be selling packages in multiple destinations/countries. There will be no store front.

I read on a website that NY requires license to become a travel agent. how do I get that and which gov office would i go to?

I would start with your attorney general's office. If they are not the right office to deal with, then they should be able to direct to what agency handles such matters.

Has anyone heard of KHM Travel Group? Good or Bad?
