I have been working as a travel agent for about 6 months now, and just put in my application for an IATA number about a week ago. I understand that first you get on the "list" and then you can apply for the actual card...I just booked a trvl agnt rate for a hotel, hoping that I'd get on list by the time I checin...I have heard that the hotel frontdesk only asks for your business card?? and rarely do they ask for the IATA card. Is this true?? I guess I'm just a little worried of not having the actual IATA card when I checkin...not even sure if I'll be on the list by then. Should I be worried? |

If they want to see your IATA card and you haven't recieved it yet, just explain to them that it's "in the mail." Most of them are cool. They are res agents - just like you. You'll be fine. |
