I was with YTB and became a Power Team Leader. Once I learned about TraVerus and took a look at the opportunity with TraVerus, it made sense to make the switch. |

jen in Savannah, Georgia said: Well I am sorry YTB did not work for you! I work hard at it everyday and am doing very well! I book lots of travel. Infact , just booked another cruise a few days ago and will make 300 on it and did nothing. I really enjoy it and do make money or else I wouldnt be doing it. YOu have to give it time and you have to build up your clients. Like any business, what you put into is what you get out of it-Good luck to you! Hello, you may not have done anything to book it at the time of booking, but you, at some point in time did indeed do 'something' to ensure this booking. You see it is comments like that one that mislead people and give the industry a 'bad rep'.

The difference? They are both multi level marketing schemes. Don't waste your time or money and work with a reputible, local travel agent. |

TraVerus is more than a discount website. As a matter of fact, the TraVerus online account, as well as they're booking engine pay the least amount of commissions. They are there to compete with other online booking agents. TraVerus agents get they're best prices by using the suppliers different booking engines or calling a supplier direct. TraVerus Travel Agents are supposed to be trained agents earning Industry credentials and growing their home business and they're knowledge. TraVerus Agents also have required documentation when talking to or faxing a supplier. We can also put together Group cruises as well as Non Profit Group cruises. It's more than just a vacation website to be added to your suite of homepages. If that's what you're looking for I recommend you go elsewhere. Why become a down line member of any MLM when your upline has no idea what the business is??!! |

And what defines a "scheme" in your words John? K in Penn..in researching both...be sure you get ALL the information from both sides of the coin and due your own due diligence. Facts based off of what one person says without proof are usually lies. |

I know YTB lost it's travel license and no longer has the IATA #. I belong to YTB and I am going to quit because of it. |

Well I am a member of Y.T.B and I've been to a number of Traversus meeting and I can truely say Y.T.B is more of an investment but Traversus is useful as well. |

Shawn and all those other YTB'ers out there: how are you enjoying the lawsuits against YTB? Still think they are so great and wonderful? Why in the world would you pay $495 to start, $50 a month all for just a website? You still have to get out there and work your business and on top of that you are giving up 40% of commissions you earned. There are so many agencies out there that offer 80/20 splits, little or no start uup fees, and low or no monthly fees. YTB is a pyramid scheme and suppliers realize it which is why they are being dropped. |

YTB vs Traverus, vs everyone else not to mention Brick and mortar travel agents. Can't we all get along. YTB was the largest and therefore subject to scrutiny and fell short. They are beginning to make changes and will come back as strong as ever. We are all in the same industry and what hurts one of us hurts us all. I'm with Traverus and really don't want to work with anyone I have to convince that we have a better product line. If you want to join YTB , then Good Luck. Since posting my blog my phone has been ringing from other agents trying to get me to jump ship or join a brick and mortar firm. And when you read the CTA manual, they all offer pretty much the same benefits. The dollar amounts to get you IATA card is the same across the board. Your Travel Agent ID still opens the same discounts no matter who you join with. The focus of the business is the people and if you care about the people you have to let them pay more if they wish. But the benefits are the same. Convincing people to join you when they don't really want to leads to one thing... TURNOVER. If someone wants to work with a different Host company, they one day will because they will always wonder, "What if?"
You have to enjoy what you are doing. That is the only thing that keeps the drive going when the money doesn't. You do it because you enjoy doing it. If you don't trust that you have made the right decision, then you will never be happy. So do your "Due Diligence". Join the host company that you will be happy with, then go out and sell vacations and have fun with it. If not you can always go sell"Energy Drinks".
