hi guys, working as a truck driver in kuwait at moment for the US Military with a Civilian Contractor.

If your looking for work in Kuwait as a Truck Driver, Try Either M&E Group (UK Registered) or TXM (Also UK Registered but take Nationality's).

Moneys okay, Take home in your hand is around £750 to £800PW (Paid Every 2 Weeks), Not sure of amount in US Dollars, You would need to check exchange Rate.

Accommodation with M&E is Free, but there is a waiting List, not sure about TXM, Risks are from local Drivers on way to work mainly(They drive like it's Allah's Will if they crash - Most dangerous part of job.

Hope this is of some help

I work for werner right now. I am looking at other options for the future. that is why I want to go over seas for a while. There is a company based out of Evansville Indiana, but I don't know the name of it. You go over to Iraq for 6 months and then come home for 6 moths and get paid well. I would like to work for them. Does anyone know what the name of the company is?

Depends on what you do, who you would look into. The big 3 right now are Fluor, ITT, and Dyn-Corp. KBR used to be the big dog, but about all they have is the transportation mission in Iraq, and that is going to come to a close in a hurry. They are laying off hundreds all the time, especially skilled trades.

I have been here a while, so it really doesn't matter who. My point was to the person that claimed you had to know someone to get here. I know Fluor, DynCorp, and ITT all have driver and equipment positions that open up on a regular basis. KBR is out of Afghanistan and what they have in Iraq is coming to an end fast. Put together a good resume and submit it online. Sometimes it pays off to pay someone for the resume, I realize that is tough when money is tight.

The reason you couldn't paste your entire resume here is because this site isn't for that. It is to share information about companies that are hiring so you can apply with them. Employers very rarely look here for, much less hire someone from a post.

Good luck all you drivers, I am in the same boat too. I am 60 and not going to start all over again at 63, I am done. I been driving 20 years, perfect record.

Hey everyone this is johnathan willis again. Im still looking to get to iraq or afghanistan as a truck driver. Im the guy that posted my resume on here accidently. I've applied to KBR, DYNCORP, ITT, and Fluor with no results to show. Even though i'm doing ok with Conway right now, I just really would like a different scene and atmosphere to work in. Of course making better money is good but I'd go to iraq/afghanistan even if i made the same pay here in the states. If any recruiters out there see this email. I'd appreciate a response. The rest of you folks out there just try to keep your heads up and something will come thru for you eventually. Thanks

Hi Gone Fishing. I am looking at what everyone is saying on this site. I am currently going to truckdriving school. I was wondering if a company that trucks out of Kuwait would even look at me. I am 39yrs old and i am starting over for the second time in my life not even a retirment account. I am a Disabled Vet with diet controled Diabetes any hope for me in this area of the job market. I would like to be able to retire at a resonable age and not at 125. I have been reading Spoilts info with M&E and it all sounds good but I need more info on what they want for blood tests and medical.

Thanks

Honestly, you probably don't have to much of a shot without some experience. It doesn't hurt to post for the jobs. There is more work in Afghanistan and Iraq than there is in Kuwait. Try DynCorp, Fluor, KBR, and ITT Systems. Apply for anything that you are even close to being qualified for. The job descriptions on their websites tend to be well exaggerated from the actual job. If you get hired, you can try to use the CDL to make a position move after you are here.

Forgot to add.

The medical isn't to bad. BMI under 40, google search BMI. No injectable meds, no anti depressants, or narcotics. EKG if you are over 40. You will probably have to get a release from your doc for the diabetes.

That's the way to communicate with your employer. Go into the office and tell them that you'll quit if they do no give you more miles. It appears that you really told them!

This is a common practice in the trucking industry here. My advice while trying to clear your name, search for profitable trucking positions overseas if you're able. Also, another option is to use this time to update your career skills and maybe take another direction in life.
Trucking in this country for the most part, stinks.

IRS publication 54 is your best reference. In order to be exempt from federal income tax you have to spend 330 out 365 days out of the country. Then and only then is the first 94K non-taxable. You still have to pay social security and any applicable state taxes on the whole amount.
