I graduated 7 months ago from Newbridge College in Santa Ana. Great education, but not accreditted with ARDMS. I had no idea how serious that was. The school reasurred me that I WOULD find a job and they would help place me. I just needed to be in the field for 1 yr, paid until I could register with ARDMS. This has turned into a nightmare. I have diligently searched for months and months. The school has been no help to say the least! I have recruiters working with me, I have been on the internet applying, I have gone on the road to numerous counties and dropped off resumes. No one will hire me because of my school's lack of accredidation. I feel duped and mis-led. My education was so amazing to me and I know I would be wonderful at this. I have been working in the medical field as a massage therapist for over 8 yrs and have phenominal pt care skills. I was in the top 5 of my class in school and have over 900 hrs of hands on clinical experience divided amongst 4 clinics. No one is giving me my first job! Time is ticking and I am curious if I should go back to school with an accreditted program. Maybe see if any classes transfer, thus taking additional time and more loans to get my career started. Or do I give up? There are sooo many jobs available, it is heart breaking to know that no one will let me in. I need advice. I am willing to relocate for the first yr. I have already postponed my wedding to do what I have to do to get this job. Anyone have any advice for me? By the way, don't go to Newbridge if you expect a job out of school! |

I feel for you do not give up. You may want to check into whether or not those credits will transfer to a accredited college. I did not complete the program and I too am looking to get back to different DMS program because Agrosy formly know as MIM ripped me off. They have deliberately over booked students in classrooms designed for 4-6 students for a scanning lab of 2.5 hours. Which needless to say you do not get quality education or scan time due to the college being greedy for money by having more than 6 students. That is what one would call bait and switch on Agrosy's part controlled by the admissions for Agrosy and their so-called higher-ups. Then Sue Hummel and her direct staff played their game of politics to deliberately getting me out after I spent thousands of dollars. By the way my GPA was 3.5 the first 3 semesters then all of the sudden they the staff were all making my life miserable and misusing the authortiy to fail me. So the moral of the story I believe what comes around goes around Newbridge will get what is due by you speaking out I commend your brave and you are important. |

I've been doing ultrasound now for over 6 yrs now, and I know what your going thru comming from OC. You need to get your foot in the door someplace thats willing to take you under their wing and invest in you. It might not be the most desirable place you want to be, but hey...its an experience. Dont feel bad i know people that have gone to an accredited school and are registered and are still having a difficult time gettting a job. its the experience they need, you have to really get your hands dirty. I know if you leave town you'll make more staring out vs staying where your at, and by the time you come back you'll be making top dollar. it takes some people years and years to make the $$ I do and I've been doing this for under 10 years. Its just something to think about.

well, your in LA...you'd have to relocate for a little bit. If you dont mind, there is an opening at Kingman Regional Medical Center in AZ, I know they take new grads and mold them. If that works great, b/c my spot will open up too in the near future, b/c i'm going relocate again soon. If your interested contact tami logan @ the imaging center and see what the possibilities are are. her # is 928-681-8600. I got a call yesterday from Tim Cobb in Reno and they need a tech and it sounds like they have great incentives. His # is 775-815-6115. they will take someone w/o rdms but they have to get it withing 120 days. hey its a window, how hungry are you??? You have to chase your dreams if you really want it.
good luck! |
