No one is hiring fresh graduates and they generally require 2 years prior "work" experience, not clinical experience. Sucks all the way around as the school state that no ARDMS is needed to get a job but the employers state otherwise. Oh, then they email you "qualified" job leads which state the same requirements as above, How is that a qualified job lead?

These trade school treat their students like their asking for a handout when the students are the ones who are "paying" for the service. DUH!

Hey I understand your situation, although I didn't attend ACC. Most private institutions if not all of them are around 30K to 40K and they charge high due to the early graduation rather than the what....5 to 8 years if you decided to go to OCC? Anyways, private non-accredited schools are fine to enroll into if you have a BS degree already. That waives the 1 year experience which no one can seem to obtain and your eligible to take the ARDMS, which most hospitals and clinics accept. Even with that though, I see a lot of job posts requiring two years experience. Now, how the bleepin' F are we supposed to have that if no one is hiring new peeps! Very frustrating....

Hi Fay,

So do you have a sonography job now? I plan to apply for the sonography program at OCC since it's cheap and accredited.

I am currently looking into legal action against ICC in Sacramento. They are only there to take advantage of people who are most likely recovering addicts, and really dont know any better, but are trying to make a change in their lives- and then they end up with major debt and no job. ICC didnt do anything they said they would do. Honestly they made life more difficult than it already is and there are numerous people at the Sacramento campus who feel the same

Wow, aren't you bold. You have seen hundreds of graduates??? You list no names or places, just misleading hypotheticals?

The industry is over saturated with people like you, who look down their nose at people who can't find a job. You "know" all these people who have all these jobs, but rather than try to be helpful, you waste your time coming here and doing further damage to those who are in need? Maybe it is you who is bi-polar and needs to be unemployed, have your family die and become homeless because a school took the only money you had, feed you BS while you were paying them and then treat you like scum after you graduate. Just sayin........

Are you looking for a job or do you know someone who is - then read this.
By Dr. Gordon Jones,
Doctor of Health Administration and Executive Coach

I work with employers who are hiring, but if you're a male with a waist line over 40 inches or a female with one over 36 – THEY’RE NOT GOING TO HIRE YOU
Seventy eight (78) million Americans are covered by their employer’s health plan benefits who in-turn spend ~$585 billion to keep us healthy and pay for the medical care to heal us.
$147 billion of what our employer’s pay is spent on obesity related illness. This does not include the cost of lost productivity due to illnesses, fatigue, and the new buzz word “presentizism” related to obesity.
Employers can’t afford to pay for these avoidable health costs. They see that it is up to us as individuals to care for our own health, they know they, as merely an employer, cannot do it for their employees.
What can these employers do to help keep from paying for these preventable costs – by not hiring new employees that they can “SEE” will cost them more money than the employee will earn for the company. Yes, this is borderline discriminatory, but also very hard to prove since it is not written down anywhere.
So if you are looking for a job or a career change, then men if your waist is greater than 40 inches and women if you’re over 36 inches.
If you are disciplined in counting your caloric intake and in assuring you’re exercising at least 30 minutes every day, gradually you will reduce the weight. But remember, it takes 3,500 calories to burn one pound of fat so you won’t do this over night.

If you are interested learning how you can lose the weight using a balance diet – not a diet fade program – please go to our website.

I know Dr Muradian, Karim is deceptive in his approach. He takes advantage of students who are frustrated. He is a sales person and knows how to sell. He passed 2 ECFMg(?) exams for MD in USA. He was a general practitioner in Iraq who left his practice many years ago. His smooth tongue catches people off guard. Initially he was charging $6000 for his lousy program. SInce no one could afford that money he reduced the price to $2500. He teaches most basic echo. I know he is manipulative and very deceptive. How can we stop this man from robbing the needy students?

Regarding Dr. Muradian, I can just about promise his classes are fraudulent. I'm a U.S. traind MD and contacted ARDMS to see if they've heard of him. They replyed with the prerequisites for registering for the exams which are basically either:

1. Graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program for ultrasound, or an accredited echocardiography program for echo. You can take the registry right after graduating. These are associates degree or bachelors degree programs lasting 3-4 years. 1 year of prerequisites usually, 2 more for the associates, or some programs do a final 4th year for the bachelors.

Or

2. Work full time, in a paid position under the supervision of someone else who is registered in RDMS, RVT or RDCS for 12 months. Then a letter can be submitted stating your employment, 12 months training full time and their credentials.

Dr. Muridians program is not CAAHEP accredited if it is only 20 days over five months. So that leaves the other possibility that he is fraudently submitting letters stating you were in his full time employment and scanning patients (illegal).

Either way, he's either being dishonest to you or to ARDMS.
Your best bet is to either get entry level work anywhere you can under a registered person, or go to a CAAHEP accredited program.

That being said, perhaps an even better bet is to not go into ultrasound. Perhaps nursing where the demand is much more and they pay as good or better. I say this because I am hearing a lot of people, such as some posters above, who are registered with many years experience unable to find positions. Many are saying there aren't enough positions available. I am seeing registered techs in my area getting paycuts because of the current economy, patients losing their jobs and losing their insurance along with it.

Just my 2cents.
I am a intern at ICC in ORANGE COUNTY.I know for a fact that the school I attended is a scam. I am beside myself with anger. Students paid over 14,000 to get a drug and alcohol counselor job only to find out they would get paid minumin wage. I know Im not the only one out there who was told they would receive 25.00 and over after they graduated. This school has 7 locations and they are loading the students by the bus load. Giving these students false hopes and and not helping them gets jobs and getting funded by the state and putting them in debt. To anyone out there who attended INTERCOAST COLLEGE please write me.
My daughter is just about to graduate and they hit her with the news that she has to fork over about $5,000 that she does not have or they will hold the certificate. Nothing in the agreement when she signed up said anything about a balloon payment. I work in legal support and am looking into either joining or starting a class action.
