I am really starting to become discouraged about my choice in changing professions, everywhere I apply at tells me they need someone with a registry but the registries only accepts those who have worked in this field for a year or more. How do I get a job at the hospitals or at the local imaging centers if no one will look at my resume if I do not have more than 2-5 years under my belt and at least 2 to 3 registries (which I cannot get if I do not work)?

Shorty i am looking into this profession and from what i have read on this website it seems that unless you went to a (CAAHEP) certified school, it will be problematic for you to find a job, since i assume you have not sat for the ardms exam. You live in pompano so unless you went to BCC, Nova, Keiser, or Miami Dade College the school that you went no is not (CAAHEP) certified. Someone who goes to a (CAAHEP) certified school can sit for their registry right after gradu

To "work registry" means that you get no health benefits and you're not guaranteed a set amount of hours each week;, however your hourly pay rate is usually higher compared to your full/part time co-workers..... I worked registry for 6 months myself and I loved it! I usually didn't get 40 hours per week; normally 24-32 hours. I made almost 1.5 times more money per hour than my co-workers....but then I was offered and then I accepted a full time position (I wanted the benefits).
